Chairs a variety of governance committees (administrative, faculty, and student related) that provide guidance on IT priorities and IT investments, participate in UC systemwide committees.

Additionally, responsible for deploying/supporting 100+ campus online transaction processing systems (cloud, vendor, and custom developed).

Effectively partner with academic leadership and faculty to address the technological needs of pedagogy and with technological needs of research, including exploring innovative modes of investment in shared research technologies.

Research Cyberinfrastructures: Guide the creation and maintenance of a suite of cyberinfrastructures and services for researchers and campus labs / facilities. These cyberinfrastructures include a robust and sophisticated data network, physical co-location facilities for computer and storage systems, a wide range of computational, analytical, and data management tools.

Infrastructures, Communications, Security, Policy and Middleware: Plan, lead and ensure appropriate infrastructures (e.g. network, telephone, data center, etc.), communications services and technologies, (e.g. collaboration, e-mail, etc.), cybersecurity programs and tools, and as well as middleware (e.g. service originated architecture) are robustly available to ensure support of UCR's teaching, research, and business systems, tools, and services.
