Custom Scope
Receives assignments in the form of equal opportunity employment objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals. Reviews and approves recommendations for equal opportunity employment programs. Provides guidance to subordinates to achieve equal opportunity employment goals in accordance with established policies. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve goals results in additional costs and personnel, and serious delays in overall schedules. Meets annual goals assigned by manager and remains within allocated budget guidelines.

Department Custom Scope
As a direct report to the Associate Vice Chancellor/Chief Compliance Officer, this position serves as the chief administrator for administering the Title IX/Sexual Harassment Complaint Resolution Program. The incumbent is responsible for coordinating the University's compliance with federal and state sexual violence/sexual harassment regulations and ensures that the University provides an environment that is free from sexual harassment and gender, sexual orientation, and identity discrimination. The position also provides and oversees campus-wide Title IX/Sexual Harassment Prevention education and training.

Develops, implements, and monitors specific equal opportunity employment programs in compliance with government legislation and organizational goals.
  • Develops campus-wide programming in connection with other university offices. Develops communications for students, faculty and staff, including publications and web site content ensuring university-wide training is consistent with Title IX, SVSH, and other relevant campus policies.

Communicates affirmative action, equal opportunity employment and diversity policies and programs to employees, top management and public and government agencies.
  • Directs efforts for Title IX, compliance with University policy regarding sexual violence and sexual harassment (SVSH) compliance and provides oversight and coordination of all affiliated policies.

Effectively manages assigned staff, including developing individuals and providing cross training to produce and complete statistical reports and projects related to the utilization of the job market in achieving employment diversity goals.

Oversees the production of detailed reports and makes recommendations concerning the status and effectiveness of equal opportunity employment programs.
  • Gathers and monitors campus data to analyze trends, patterns, and systemic concerns. Determines and, as necessary, implements appropriate responses to incidents regarding compliance with Title IX, SVSH and related laws and policies. Participates in the development of assessment and metrics for reporting as required for other laws, policies.

Works effectively with people of diverse cultures and frequently interacts and collaborates with other functional managers in human resources and throughout the organization.
  • Coordinates and monitors Title IX efforts of other delegates and university offices that receive and/or investigate complaints, including but not limited to HR, academic personnel, academic senate, Office of Judicial Affairs, CARE, campus police and other campus partners as needed.

  • Serves as a campus resource for Title IX and SVSH compliance matters and responds to outside agencies as necessary. Advises campus leadership and managers on Title IX and SVSH related matters. Disseminates information on legal and policy developments and appropriate practices. Serves as primary liaison to UCOP. Ensures the proper maintenance of files and documents.
