Custom Scope
Uses professional public educational program concepts in the completion of public education assignments. Works on programs and needs assessments that are of moderate scope and complexity. Modifies existing public educational programs or develops segments of larger programs.

Department Custom Scope
Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Academic Affairs, the Program Coordinator coordinates teacher certification, youth, and other custom/special programs in Extension's Academic Affairs Department. Conducts research and analyzes program content and delivery needs to secure appropriate presentation settings. Arranges logistics and ensures appropriate course materials and technology are available to support projects. Provides high-quality customer service to instructors, staff, and educational partners, second-level programmatic expert support to prospective students, and academic service support to enrolled students.

Key Responsibilities

Assists in planning and scheduling course offerings and identifying course topics.
  • Plan the sequence and timing of the assigned portfolio of open enrollment courses. Schedule courses to meet program requirements and the needs of students. Schedule instructional staff for course delivery.

Under general supervision, organizes and conducts existing public educational courses and assists in the development of new programs and course materials.

Assesses presentation/course results through student and participant evaluations and levels of interest shown and recommends appropriate changes.

Assists in developing strategic market plans and targets audience.
  • Participates in department strategy meetings and supports marketing efforts, including working with the Strategic Marketing on planning and development of appropriate advertisements, media, and recruitment materials. Participates in student outreach events.

Utilizes evaluation tools for courses, instructors and programs to evaluate and adjust course curriculum or presentation.
  • In consultation with the Director, responds to evaluation results and implements course and program changes as required. Assist with developing and meeting with advisory committees to review programs for relativity to the educational community.

Assists in developing, preparing and reconciling budgets for program.
  • Completes enrollment analysis and budget forecasting in advance of offerings and submits for approval. Assesses profitability upon course completion and makes notes for future offerings.

Assists in conducting analysis, prioritizing work assignments and developing program recommendations.

Assists in preparation of monthly instructor payroll. Verify instructors instructor pay schedules and rates monthly.
