Interacts frequently with investigators, persons in other organizational departments, and occasionally persons outside the University. Interactions require the use of tact and independent judgment, knowledge of standards and best practices, and counseling to resolve a wide range of research compliance issues. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Errors or omissions may ultimately place research participant at undo risk and/or compromise the institution's assurance of regulatory compliance with the federal government. |
Department Custom Scope
UCR's Office of Research Administration and Compliance (RAC) promotes the highest standards of research excellence and ensures compliance with federal and state regulations. This position is responsible for providing support and leadership to various research compliance areas covered by the ORI. The Conflict of Interest (COI) Coordinator will be responsible for providing support and leadership to the Conflict of Interest (COI) committee as well as providing back up support, as needed, to the Export Control Office and Dual Use Research of Concern (DURC). The COI Coordinator will serve as a resource to faculty and will ensure that federal and state laws, as well as UC policy, are applied correctly. The COI Coordinator will work closely with faculty to facilitate the ethical conduct of research. This position also interacts with a variety of campus and system-wide offices to facilitate the management, administration and conduct of research. |
