Custom Scope
Uses advanced research compliance concepts to interpret highly complex and broad regulations, policies and guidelines. Regularly works on highly complex research compliance issues where analysis requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria to anticipate and identify problems and develop and implement the appropriate response and/or action. Serves as a technical expert and advisor to department head.

Department Custom Scope
UCR's Office of Research Administration and Compliance (RAC) promotes the highest standards of research excellence and ensures compliance with federal and state regulations. This position is responsible for providing support and leadership to various research compliance areas covered by the ORI. The Senior Conflict of Interest (COI) Coordinator will be responsible for providing support and leadership to the Conflict of Interest (COI) as well as providing back up support, as needed, to the Export Control Office and Dual Use Research of Concern (DURC) committee. The Sr. COI Coordinator will serve as a resource to faculty and will ensure that federal and state laws, as well as UC policy, are applied correctly. This position will work closely with faculty to facilitate the ethical conduct of research. This position also interacts with a variety of campus and system-wide offices to facilitate the management, administration and conduct of research.

Working with others in the office, provides administrative support and leadership for the Conflict of Interest (COI). When needed, may provide administrative support to other research compliance committees such as the Institutional Review Boards (IRBs) , Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC),Stem Cell Research Oversight (SCRO) and Dual Research of Concern (DURC).
