Position Information
Under the direction of the Director of African Student Programs, the Assistant Director of African Student Programs shares in providing leadership for the execution of the African Student Programs mission through the administration, supervision, advising, training, and guiding of professional and student staff, individual scholars, and student organizations while providing appropriate support and resources. The Assistant Director will be able to lead in the development and implementation of educational and outreach programming that highlight and celebrate the spectrum of Blackness that impacts scholars who identify within the Pan African Diaspora. The Assistant Director assumes leadership responsibilities and delegated decision-making authority for all department operations in the absence of the Director. Evening and weekend work will be required based on program and event offerings or to best meet the needs of scholars. The budgeted hiring range is between $58,000 - $70,700. **As a condition of employment, you will be required to comply with the University of California SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) Vaccination Program Policy. All Covered Individuals under the policy must provide proof of Full Vaccination or, if applicable, submit a request for Exception (based on Medical Exemption, Disability, and/or Religious Objection) or Deferral (based on pregnancy) no later than the applicable deadline. For new University of California employees, the applicable deadline is eight weeks after their first date of employment.
