Position Information
Under the guidance of the Assistant Director of the LGBT Resource Center, the Program Coordinator collaborates with the center staff to identify and respond to students’ interests, issues, needs, and concerns. The Program Coordinator develops and coordinates a peer education program focused on LGBTQ+ knowledge, culture, and issues. Maintains operations within the center, including access to CyberCenter and Library resources; and helps maintain an appropriate climate within the center space. The Program Coordinator prepares materials for the LGBT Resource Center social media, marketing, and promotion. The Program Coordinator also helps to plan, implement, and evaluate cultural and educational programs and trainings. The incumbent supervises student employees, interns, and volunteers. The budgeted salary for this role is up to $55,332.

Abilities in problem identification, reasoning.
Knowledge and understanding of sexual orientation and gender identity theory and issues, especially pertaining to college student populations.
Basic knowledge of advising and counseling techniques.

Ability to multi-task, verbal communication, written communication and organization skills.
Ability to work with individuals and groups with a wide array of identities and life experiences, including gender, disability, class, race/ethnicity, sexuality, culture, religion, etc.

Ability to serve in a customer service capacity, including on the telephone, in person, and using electronic communication systems, exercising tact and diplomacy with emphasis on flexibility and professionalism.
