AAPI Data Internship and Community Partnership Coordinator

Position Information

Under the general supervision of the Executive Director and AAPI Data Managing Director, the Internship and Community Partnership Coordinator designs and implements programs that involve student and mid-career internship opportunities at AAPI Data, as well as partnerships with community organizations across the United States. The Internship and Community Partnership Coordinator provides administrative support and provides analytical support of moderate scope and complexity to address a variety of policy, research and procedural challenges. This position plans and manages events including large public events, stakeholder trainings, workshops and convenings. In this role, the Internship and Community Partnership Coordinator communicates with external audiences including individual correspondence, email campaigns, and social media activity. The budgeted hiring range for this position is approximately $65,000-$80,000, based on skills, training, and experiences. This position is eligible for hybrid or remote work. This is a contract position with an anticipated duration of two years with the possibility of continuation contingent upon funding. Work samples will be requested of all shortlisted candidates.

Minimum Requirements

Working knowledge of applicable policy analysis techniques.
Proficient in communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Working knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs.
Proficient in ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
Proficient in ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
Demonstrates ability to analyze, research and synthesize large amounts of data with strong attention to detail.
Demonstrates ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.
Proficient in ability to download and perform basic calculations of demographic and survey data from sources like American FactFinder.
Ability to travel within California and to other states in the United States as needed for research and outreach.
Proficiency in designing and executing email campaigns and social media campaigns.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated experience working with minority populations, including Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.

Familiarity with the organization's processes, protocols and procedures.

Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite for graphic design and layout.
