Assistant Director of Strength and Conditioning

Position Information

Reporting to the Director of Strength and Conditioning, the Assistant Director (AD) will assist the Director in developing strength and conditioning procedures and plans for the Student Athletes within the organizations seventeen (17) different sport programs. They will utilize a range of professional athletics concepts and strategies for assisting in the development and maintenance of strength and conditioning procedures.

Please note that this is a contract position. Additionally, the salary range for the Assistant Director of Strength and Conditioning is $37,200 - $59,600 annually. The expected pay scale for this position is up to $45,000.00 annually. We base placement within these ranges on the individual's qualifications as they relate to this position.

Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training with a college-level program. Required

Licenses

National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Required

Certifications

Certification Requirement
May need to maintain CPR/AED and First Aid certification. Preferred
May need to maintain NCAA certified recruiter status. Preferred

Experience

Experience Requirement
4 - 7 years of related experience. Required

Minimum Requirements

Current knowledge of applicable rules and standards of the affiliated athletic conference, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) or National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), as well as other associations and agencies to which the campus adheres, and, at all times avoid any and all violations of these rules and standards.
Ability to demonstrate creativity, sound judgment and decision-making;, be an effective problem solver and effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
Demonstrated effective problem solving and communication skills, verbally and in writing.
Specialized knowledge of the team sport or activity and demonstrated technical expertise in coaching principles.
Leadership skills to mentor and develop athletes.
Strong interpersonal, motivational and team leadership skills to work effectively with athletic participants.
