Director of EPIC Instructional Programs

Position Information

The Director of EPIC Instructional Programs International Partnerships will provide program management, teaching, and coaching to participants in the EPIC Entrepreneurial Education and the EPIC international incubator programs. The Director will assist in expanding EPIC's and UCR's partnerships around the world and in sustaining and expanding EPIC's entrepreneurial education and mentoring programs at UCR and in the community.

Please note, this is a 1-year contract position with full benefits and possibility of renewal contingent upon continued funding. The budgeted pay scale for this position is from $93,400 up to $135,300. The salary offer will be commensurate with the final candidate's related education and experience.

Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Required
Advanced degree in related area. Preferred

Experience

Experience Requirement
Successful experience with business development in international settings in particular with technology based startups. Preferred
Experience as a senior level executive in a technology based company. Preferred
6 - 10 years of related experience. Required
Experience mentoring entrepreneurs and with accelerators and incubators. Preferred
Experience reporting to and collaborating with a Board of Directors and cultivating strong working relationships with its members. Preferred

Minimum Requirements

Ability to work with a diverse group at all levels of the organization including faculty, staff, students and industry partners. Strong sense of ethical conduct that will inspire confidence and motivation.
Advanced organizational and project management skills. Ability to lead a team, prioritize personal and team tasks and see projects through from inception to completion on schedule.
Ability to break down complex concepts and tailor communication to industry partner unique needs and interests.
Skilled communicator; includes verbal and written, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising and counseling skills. Ability to use discretion and respect confidentiality.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills to establish and maintain working relationships with colleagues, faculty, donors, and industry partners, with an emphasis on collaboration, tact, diplomacy, flexibility, professionalism, and discretion.
Ability to perform all commonly applicable functions in the Microsoft Suite. Advanced knowledge of organization's Industry Alliance's programs. Ability to teach others.

Preferred Qualifications

Deep understanding of faculty and programmatic research interests within the University. Understanding of partnership agreements, patent law, licensing and commercialization.
