Custom Scope
Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced, undraising professional. Plans, schedules, and implements moderate-sized, comprehensive fundraising and alumni relations projects and programs, including specific fundraising programs such as annual fund, alumni relations, research, et cetera. May coordinate and oversee the work of support staff and/or other professionals. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Position is expected to raise gift dollar amounts as established at each fundraiser specialization.

Department Custom Scope
Under the general direction of the Senior Director of Development, Bourns College of Engineering, (BCOE) and in coordination with the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Development, the incumbent is responsible for planning, development and implementation of a comprehensive fundraising program that will result in the generation of private support including individual and foundation giving for the University with a focus on the Bourns College of Engineering. The Associate Director is responsible for development initiatives aimed at growing a pipeline of leadership annual giving prospects, major gift fundraising and supporting the overall development efforts of the University.

Work strategically with the Senior Director of Development and Assistant Vice Chancellor for Development to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward prospects/donors for gifts to meet established fundraising goals and objectives. Work with centralized annual giving staff and the College development team to plan, monitor and evaluate an annual giving program to support the College. Coordinate and manage the College's stewardship plan including mailings, campus events, regional events, and donor visits. Assist with university-wide event planning and implementation. Attend University events and appropriate programs. Maintain donor data with the highest regard for confidentiality and detail using Raiser's Edge software.

Develop detailed gift opportunities tailored to the interests of potential donors. Encourage the active participation of donors and volunteers to ensure their awareness of current needs and objectives of the University.

Devise and oversee the implementation of personalized methods for recognizing and maintaining ongoing contact with current/past donors to ensure donor retention. Maintain donor data with the highest regard for confidentiality and detail using Raisers's Edge software.

Experience in coordinating and integrating fundraising efforts with alumni, media relations and marketing professionals within advancement. Experience in development and/or alumni affairs and/or annual giving. Preferred
Experience with Raiser's Edge or other constituent databases. Experience with exporting/importing data from or to different software applications; and operating knowledge of Internet for data gathering purposes. Preferred
