Department Custom Scope
UC Riverside's School of Medicine is seeking an expert in educational evaluation and assessment spanning elementary to graduate school levels to join the Office of Student Affairs. The focus of the position will consist of supporting the standardization, centralization, and integration of evaluation, measurement and quality improvement of pipeline programs' research needs for the UCR SOM. The position will require the applicant to work closely with the Senior Associate and Associate Deans of Student Affairs as well as the Directors of all associated feeder programs to ensure Student Affairs and pipeline programs are well supported in their data processing, evaluation and grant submission needs. To meet the data processing needs of Student Affairs, this position will design measurement instruments, collect and analyze data, research, generate and disseminate reports and presentations as well as assist with grant writing.

Pipeline programs: Design, or select when appropriate, and use evaluative instruments to ensure Pipeline and other SOM programs are meeting set goals and objectives. Support Student Affairs and Pipeline programs in research and dissemination of program results in various formats and mediums. Support Student Affairs with evaluation and reporting needs and in supporting the mission of the SOM. Support pipeline/medical students in developing and implementing a research agenda of their own. Offer data generated suggestions to improve quality of Pipeline programs and instruction. Support a research mentor program for specific Pipeline programs (i.e. FPL, DHC, MMS).

Data Collection and Analysis: Assist with collection and analysis. Consult administrators, faculty and staff with their data processing and evaluative needs. Manage data in various forms (text, numeric, audiovisual, etc.), including databases and data related software for storage, analyses, reporting and presenting. Create various reports for programs and departments within the SOM and affiliate entities and current/potential grant funders within short time frame, if necessary.

Maintain an active research agenda. Be familiar with and comply with IRB policies and comply with ethical conduct of research.

Assist with identifying funding opportunities using search engines. Assist with literature reviews, proposals and grant development.
