Maintains a portfolio of donor prospects that include the most influential, complex or highest rated donors. May maintain and manage portfolio(s) of senior campus leadership including the Chancellor and VCs. May have authority to make commitments and precedent-setting decisions regarding program design, development, and procedures. May oversee the work of professional and support staff. position is expected to raise gift dollar amounts as established at each fundraiser specialization. |
Department Custom Scope
The Executive Director is the managing development officer for the UCR School of Medicine. The Executive Director is responsible for creating an extensive program of engagement between the campus and external constituencies that will encourage major and principal gift private philanthropy for the School of Medicine. The incumbent ensures the success of multiple fundraising projects, and the achievement of campus objectives. |

In coordination with the Associate Vice Chancellor of Development, Vice Chancellor of Health Affairs and Dean of the School of Medicine, develop School of Medicine gift opportunities and proposals which seek to match the interests of donors with the needs of the School of Medicine. Create and implement a comprehensive development program for the UCR School of Medicine, including programs designed to engage foundations, individuals, and corporations in efforts to meet the priority needs of the School, and to involve teams of campus leaders and volunteers. Advise School of Medicine and campus leaders on appropriate volunteer structures that will support the School and its mission. Develop appropriate strategies for involving campus executive management in building relationships with private foundations, major gift donor prospects, and corporations and support them in highly tailored major gift meetings and proposals relative to the School. Manage a portfolio of major and principal gift prospects (Foundations, Individuals, Corporations, etc.), developing and implementing cultivation and solicitation strategies in collaboration with School of Medicine faculty and leaders. | 25 |
