Custom Scope
Uses contract administration skills and organization policies and procedures to draft and issue standard contracts. Works on contract administration problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. May require guidance regarding specific transactions, drafting of complex contract language and assistance in interpretation of contract language.

Department Custom Scope
The Contracts Analyst will collaborate closely with their direct supervisor to administer standardized and template based contracts for the school of medicine (SOM). Ensures contracts are routed appropriately, approvals obtained, supporting documentation is in order, investigates discrepancies, and formatted consistent with policy. Will be responsible for the mechanism defined to track contract details to ensure timely and efficient administration. The incumbent will serve as a representative with various stakeholders to obtain and communicate information to resolve contract-related operational issues; and will maintain ongoing relationships.

Drafts standard contract language, validates sole-source justifications, and develops counterproposals.

Reviews contracting trends and makes recommendations to clients to reduce transactions and processing costs.

Investigates and mediates departmental or contractor complaints.

Create and manage the contracts tracking database: enter pertinent information regarding the contract scope and expiration, report on expirations, comply with applicable communications for contract cancellations, and coordinate renewals.

As assigned, additional administrative projects and tasks to support the operations of the SOM contracting department.
