Department Custom Scope
The Recreation Outreach Coordinator uses the basics of communication to manage our platforms and our campus outreach team. Conducts surveys through our outreach efforts, as well as provide social media analytics. This position is responsible for monitoring trends and applying creative forms of communication with the UCR community. Assignments will arrive in the form of objectives with goals and the process by which to meet goals. Administers policies that directly affect subordinate staff, and provides priority setting and workflow analysis.

Key Responsibilities

Assists in researching and writing material for broadcast for a variety of programming for broadcast.
  • Learns and assist with copyright or other legal clearances for publication, products, newsletters, emails, services, et cetera

Learns and/or uses the basics of broadcast communications by assisting in all aspects of multimedia production.
  • Ensures good customer service through answering questions, providing information, explaining basic products and services, and researching and resolving non-complex problems.

May participate in meetings to discuss project concepts and production plans.
  • Creates, maintains, and organizes notes/records, calendars, logs, and other related documents.

May assist in marketing and/or fundraising events.
  • Lead, supervise, and develop campus outreach and face-to-face marketing.

Development of brand awareness and online reputation. As well as creating and managing content by way of staying on top of trends, and continuously monitoring and managing content including blogs, message boards, discussion groups, live chats, status updates, and provides immediate feedback to customers.

Improve student engagement, including concept and promotional development (such as video, social media, photography, and word-of-mouth).

Capture and analyze the appropriate social data/metrics (insights and best practices), while gathering reports and developing social media strategies. This information will be used in drafting market research reports to assist Recreation Marketing
