Generic Scope

Department Custom Scope
Under the close supervison of the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer in the School of Medicine (SOM), this position will perform administrative and analytical financial duties in support of SOM operations. The duration of the position is 12 months. Six months will be spent within the clinical enterprise both in the ambulatory clinical care settings providing administrative support, and within the clinical finance unit. The remaining six months will be split between research, research finance and medical education.

Analyzes financial and/or resource data; prepares and summarizes information and reports. NOTE: Financial and/or resource analysis could include budgetary analysis, financial analysis, forecasts, projections, staff or faculty salary or FTE analysis, student enrollment analysis, recharge or general rate analysis (parking rates, copier rates, capital project rates, student health charges) student fees (self-supporting programs, professional school fees, course material fees, etc.), contracts and grants analysis, endowment income, fungibility of funds, working capital, depreciation, new building funds, etc.

Follows procedures to ensure internal controls are maintained to protect University resources.

Provides project management support that will emphasize project deliverables, acquired competencies, and technical skills ensuring the fellow has the ability to translate academic theory into practice. Fellow will meet with staff, managers, and members of leadership to review progress on projects, provide feedback, and help navigate within the organization. Projects assigned will be in Clinical, Research and Education Finance, Administration, and Medical Education.
