Recommends improvements/modifications to the program.

Department Custom Scope
The Senior Admissions Coordinator applies skills as an experienced admissions professional to develop and administer programs that support the recruitment of highly qualified and diverse applicants to the UCR School of Medicine. The incumbent will provide initial contact with applicants who call, email, and/or come to the Office of Admissions, and advise potential applicants on admissions requirements. Travel to and attend regional admissions fairs to support the recruitment of a highly qualified and diverse group of applicants. Provide outreach and function as a liaison to premedical advisors at various colleges and universities to ensure they are updated about admissions standards and requirements. Independently review applications for admission, using professional judgment in determining whether applicant meets the requirements for admission, making exceptions to admissions requirements, and taking into account a variety of requirements. Recommends improvements or modifications to the program.

Staff Admissions Committee and other committees as assigned. Work with website developers to maintain an easy-to-navigate and accurate website. Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Create training modules for faculty and medical student interviewers to ensure the interviews are valid and reliable. Participate on all interview days and other related activities. Recruit interviewers, staff and students to participate in interview day.
