Generic Scope

Department Custom Scope
The Financial Analyst will assist with various financial transactions (expense cost transfers, cash receipts recording, budget entries, etc.), data reconciliation and review for the Finance and Administration unit at the UCR School of Medicine (SOM).

Key Responsibilities

Description % Time
Performs basic financial or resource analysis to understand past performance and determine present and future performance and/or resource allocations.
  • Assists with financial transactions including, but not limited to, expense cost transfers, cash receipts recording, budget entries, etc.

Under direct supervision, responsible for providing analytical support for simple to moderate budget, financial or resource analysis projects.
  • Analyzes financial and/or resource data; prepares and summarizes information and reports. Inputs data from ledgers into budget worksheets including difficult transfer entries. Prepares reports as requested. Conducts periodic financial data reconciliation and review as directed.

Maintains department chart of accounts, and related business processes.

Follows procedures to ensure internal controls are maintained to protect University resources.

Structures clinical agreement e-files in a consistent and systematic method. Contributes to the development of a clinical agreements database that will assist SOM units in understanding agreement and financial data coding.

Develops a structured cash receipt data validation and organizational system, which consists of managing sensitive patient records as well as validation of Physician salary information from UCR's financial systems.
