Department Custom Scope
The Institutional Research Analyst 4 uses advanced data techniques and organizational objectives to resolve complex issues related to campus planning and student success initiatives. This position supports campus strategic planning and decision making through the analysis, presentation, and distribution of institutional research related data. This includes planning and analytical studies, assessment, and reporting on data related to students, academic and non-academic employees, budget, and space. May respond to informational and compliance requests from external agencies.

Key Responsibilities

Researches, gathers, analyzes and summarizes information for research projects with a broad range of internal and external and/or current and historical information.
  • This includes collection and analysis of massive amounts of institutional data. Responsible for projects from end to end, including design, execution, and communication.

  • Independently develop materials for general campus consumption that share methodologies and key findings of the office's research.

Serves as a unit representative both internally and externally.
  • Works with a broad variety of constituents on campus-wide issues.

Knowledge/Skill/Ability Requirement
Requires thorough knowledge in data collection and analysis techniques; statistics or social science research techniques; knowledge of organization-specific computer application programs (for example, query tools and relational databases); knowledge of organizational principles and procedures involved in handling sensitive data (for example, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, or FERPA). Required
