Department Custom Scope
Reporting to the Director, UCR Center for Social Innovation, the Project Policy Analyst will provide a range of duties and functions for the Center of Social Innovation: including coordination of research activity, internal outreach within campus, and external outreach to community organizations and policy actors to ensure that projects are adequately staffed and work is completed in a timely manner. Plans and manages events including large public events, stakeholder trainings, workshops and convenings. Plans and manages major initiatives like the social innovation institute, Census 2020 outreach, and the nonprofit fellowship program. Must be able to demonstrate a broad, team-oriented skill set, including the ability to effectively engage with all stakeholders; experience undertaking independent research to produce data-driven recommendations; aptitude for taking ownership and successfully implementing projects, with only general guidance from supervisor. Ability to represent the Center and the Director in discussions involving project partners on campus and off campus, and to be in timely communication with the Director, foundation and community partners, and key campus staff.

  • In consultation with the Director, the incumbent has the responsibility for managing and coordinating projects and initiatives such as the social innovation institute, Census 2020 outreach, and fellowship program. Responsibilities include development of program, speakers, and logistics.

  • Serves as the first point of contact for the center. Collects, tracks, and maintains information from stakeholders. Establishes and fosters relations to promote center initiatives.

Researches and analyzes processes and procedures, summarizes findings, policies and organizational structures in order to develop and/or implement changes and to provide consultative services to department administrators, partners and external stakeholders.

Develops scope of work, budgets, and reports for project requirements.
  • Plans, develops, and manages large public events, trainings, workshops, and presentations. Consult with Director regarding work to be done and independently distribute work to Project Policy Analyst 2 and other center support staff/students.

Supervision of Project Policy Analyst 2: Participate in the interview process and recommend candidate to be hired. Responsible for completing and communicating annual performance evaluation for the Project Policy Analyst 2. In consultation with the Director, responsible for managing Project Policy 2's performance, including recommending discipline if needed and workload management. Associate Director may provide administrative support as back up to the Project Policy Analyst 2 in scheduling meetings for the center and maintaining office supplies.
