Custom Scope
Uses advanced marketing concepts to create, develop, implement and manage comprehensive promotional marketing and sales strategies/plans, including short and long-range strategic planning. Responsibilities include comprehensive promotion and advertising and/or market research activities. Projects and/or programs are typically complex and require a high degree of technical marketing expertise. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

Department Custom Scope
Under the direct supervision of the Chief Strategy Officer for UCR Health, incumbent plans, organizes and directs the activities of Marketing and Outreach for UCR Health to ensure effective formulation and execution of customer communications and associated marketing strategies across the clinical enterprise. In conjunction with the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Strategy Officer for UCR Health, establishes, communicates, and executes a systematic, strategic marketing, and outreach programs to effectively promote UCR Health services to physicians and the community. Oversees the development of all internal and external collateral material, messaging, digital material, etc.; and is responsible for outreach efforts to support growth and success of clinical services. Please note: This position currently reports to the Chief Operating Officer and will report to the Chief Strategy Officer once the position is filled.

  • Develop marketing and community outreach metrics which align with UCR Health goals (e.g., increase patient visits, increase volume in specific specialties).

Creates, develops, implements and evaluates strategic marketing programs, projects, and campaigns.
  • Works with stakeholders, internally and externally to enhance the UCR Health brand. Works with physicians and leadership to understand marketing requirements at an individual clinic level. Develops a targeted community outreach program to build awareness of UCR Health services and position UCR Health as a trusted resource for medical care and health information.

Creates, plans, produces, and evaluates marketing, advertising, and sales promotion materials to implement marketing strategies and sales objectives.

Creates, plans, produces, manages and evaluates events, including both campus and/or medical center-sponsored events and events sponsored by external resources such as private corporations.
  • Attends site visits, fairs, and other relevant meetings/event to promote service offerings and build relationships with physicians, clinics and hospitals. Identifies and participates in community outreach activities.

Produces informational material for sales force and media communications designed to reach maximum number of partners/prospects.

Evaluates and modifies promotion or advertising programs.
  • Generate protocols for responding to marketing requests that fall outside of the approved marketing plan. Establishes a results-oriented tracking system for specific marketing initiatives.

Ensures promotion of "brand" identity and maintains and monitors "brand" communications to both campus and/or medical center and off-campus and/or medical center agencies.

Consults with campus and/or medical center management, product managers, sales departments, and advertising agencies to develop and implement promotional plans and recommends sales philosophy, potential approaches, and media strategies.

Builds and maintains effective relationships with outside (non-campus and/or medical center affiliated) companies and organizations.

Researches and recommends new and innovative methods for generating revenue.

Purchases promotional materials including displays, signage, pre-packs, promotional printing, coupons, premiums, art, photography, etc.

Creates a physician outreach program for systematically connecting UCR Health providers with referring physicians and other referral sources. Supports new physicians with practice development assistance. Collaborates with clinical leadership to enhance services that affect the health system's ability to attract and retain physician relationships. Develops outreach improvements based on physician feedback regarding program service and quality.

Manages the ongoing development, enhancement, and maintenance of the website and social media.

Conducts relevant market research and monitors trends to provide appropriate context for the development of a strategic marketing and communications plan. Develops and executes marketing and communications strategies with measurable goals and identifiable impact on organizational goals and growth initiatives.

Supervises Digital Marketing and Outreach Specialist, sets performance expectations of staff, oversees day-to-day operations. Administers policies that directly affect subordinate staff. Recommend changes to department policies and practices. Provides priority setting and work flow analysis. Selects, trains, supervises, motivates and evaluates professional staff; takes corrective action as required.
