Custom Scope
Using advanced fundraising concepts, plans, organizes, and directs complex large-scale fundraising campaigns which include multiple components. Results have major impact on overall program goals and assignments and are typically at the "major gifts" or "corporate/foundation relations" level, including managing portfolios of donors capable of giving gifts of an agreed upon amount. May oversee work of professional and/or subordinate staff. May attend functions, meetings and serve on internal/external committees as a location representative. Position is expected to raise gift dollar amounts as established at each specialization.

Department Custom Scope
Under the leadership of the Assistant Dean for Development and in close collaboration with the Dean of the College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences (CNAS), UC Riverside seeks a Director of Corporate Development (DoD) who will develop and execute long- and short-term strategies to grow the college's corporate philanthropic pipeline and secure annual, major, and in-kind donations from organizations that will benefit critical capital projects, research programs, equipment needs, and student success. The DoD will identify and manage approximately 150 prospective corporate donors and will travel locally and statewide frequently for qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship purposes. The DoD will arrange appropriate opportunities for key faculty and academic leadership to meet with prospective corporate donors and will work collaboratively with other University Advancement colleagues to achieve fundraising goals. The College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences' 13 departments comprise the college's three divisions led by Divisional Deans: Agriculture, Life Sciences, and Physical Sciences. This unique structure has resulted in the need for dedicated philanthropic engagement from an incumbent who will be instrumental in planning and executing strategies in collaboration with the CNAS Development team and will help raise $100M of the university's $300M "Living the Promise" campaign goal by 2020. Please note: this is a two-year, renewable contract position which includes the same employee benefits afforded career employees.

Work directly with internal colleagues on initiatives that speak to the college's mission. Positively inspires others to play an active role in growing programs that benefit faculty and student research.

Requires travel to multiple work sites, including meetings and events on and off campus. Occasional domestic travel may be required, as well as nontraditional work hours to accommodate evening and/or weekends that coincide with events and meetings. Required
