Plans, schedules, and implements moderate-sized, comprehensive fundraising and alumni relations projects and programs, including specific fundraising programs such as annual fund, alumni relations, research, etc. May coordinate and oversee the work of support staff and/or other professionals. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Position is expected to raise gift dollar amounts as established at each fundraiser specialization.

Department Custom Scope
Under the general direction of, and in close coordination with the director of annual giving, the associate director of annual giving (associate director) will serve as a key member of the development team, supporting and furthering the priorities and fundraising goals of UC Riverside's Annual Giving program. The incumbent is responsible for increasing annual gifts via integrated direct mail, phone, email, in-person, social media, giving days, and crowdfunding marketing strategies. The associate director will help increase the number of donors and philanthropic dollars raised through online engagement and multi-channel solicitation efforts. The position is responsible for the execution and evaluation of a complex set of Annual Giving solicitations for UC Riverside's academic units, athletics, university priorities, and special interest programs. The associate director utilizes digital analytics tools, predictive modeling, segmentation, and other data-driven techniques to ensure communications are personalized, timely, and consistent with achieving annual giving goals. Strong data extraction and project management skills are key to this position.

  • Assists in detailed planning of fund development and annual solicitation programs. Plans, schedules, and implements fundraising projects for central development, colleges, units, athletics, and special interest programs.

Provides analysis and information of complex results or activities, and makes recommendations to upper management for program changes or development of new programs as required.
  • Provides annual giving reporting services to the senior director of annual giving and the director of annual giving, and partners in colleges and units with a focus on the following types of reporting: analytics, audience analysis, annual giving results, and prospect identification.

Develops strategies within existing policy guidelines. Participates in short- and long-range strategic planning.
  • Partner closely with the director of annual giving to inform annual fundraising plan the includes goals, benchmarks, strategies, and programming aimed to build and engage the University's donor base. The associate director of annual giving will identify and utilize innovative and creative approaches for upgrading donors and increasing overall annual fund support, as well as develop opportunities and activities that engage our donors.

  • Oversee production of each appeal which includes: coordination of internal and external vendors, data segmentation with data base management staff, coordination of external providers of solicitation videos and email solicitation mechanisms, and other processes as needed. Serve as the primary liaison with the constituent management and technologies team. Request all data needed to successfully execute annual giving campaigns. Vet, segment, and deliver all data for project execution. Work in collaboration with database management staff to develop and design the structure and delivery mechanism for e-giving solicitations.

Experience with Raiser's Edge or other constituent databases. Experience with exporting/importing data from or to different software applications; and operating knowledge of Internet for data gathering purposes. Preferred
