Custom Scope
Using advanced fundraising concepts, plans, organizes, and directs complex large-scale fundraising campaigns which include multiple components. Results have major impact on overall program goals and assignments and are typically at the "major gifts" or "corporate/foundation relations" level, including managing portfolios of donors capable of giving gifts of an agreed upon amount. May oversee work of professional and/or subordinate staff. May attend functions, meetings and serve on internal/external committees as a location representative. Position is expected to raise gift dollar amounts as established at each specialization.

Department Custom Scope
Budgeted amount for this position is $95,000- $110,000. Under the general direction of the Senior Director of Regional Development, the Director of Regional Development, Mountain States will play an important role in growing the overall donor base and building long-term strategic and resource capacity for the University's general fundraising efforts in the Mountain States (Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah, Wyoming). The Director of Regional Development will preferably reside in the greater Phoenix, AZ or the greater Denver/Boulder, CO areas. The incumbent will be responsible for qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gift donors and prospects ($25,000 and above). Additionally, the incumbent is also responsible for building a pipeline of major gift activity in their specific region, connecting alumni, donors, friends, volunteers, and other constituents to the efforts of the campus and to ultimately, increase individual gifts to campus-wide schools, departments, and programs. This is a three-year, renewable contract position that includes the same employee benefits afforded career employees. A cover letter is required.

Maintains appropriate records on all donors and prospects under management, including paper files and in an electronic database. Prepares an annual operating plan and budget for regional major gift fundraising programs.

Special Requirements & Conditions
Special Condition Requirement
Requires travel to multiple work-sites, including meetings and events on and off-campus and within the Mountain States. Extensive domestic travel may be required, as well as nontraditional work hours to accommodate evening and/or weekends that coincide with events and meetings. Required
Maintain a sustained set of weekly activities from a remote, home-based operation, with a keen and self-directed focus on impactful relationship building and achieving metrics, while being responsible for (and responsive to) active communication with the Advancement team. Actively participate in regular Advancement-related meetings, as scheduled. Required
