Custom Scope
Using advanced fundraising concepts, plans, organizes, and directs complex large-scale fundraising campaigns which include multiple components. Results have major impact on overall program goals and assignments and are typically at the "major gifts" or "corporate/foundation relations" level, including managing portfolios of donors capable of giving gifts of an agreed upon amount. May oversee work of professional and/or subordinate staff. May attend functions, meetings and serve on internal/external committees as a location representative. Position is expected to raise gift dollar amounts as established at each specialization. |
Department Custom Scope
The budgeted amount for this position is $95,000- $110,000. Under the leadership of the Senior Director of Development for Education and Policy and in close collaboration with the Dean of the Graduate School of Education, UC Riverside seeks a motivated, energetic, innovative, collaborative, and knowledgeable individual to assume the position of Director of Development for Education and Policy. The individual in this position will develop and execute long- and short-term strategies to grow the philanthropic pipeline and secure major gifts ($25,000 and up) in support of the Graduate School of Education. The Graduate School of Education at the University of California, Riverside prepares students to become administrators, educators, advocates, and scholars who promote excellence and equity in every area of education. UC Riverside's campus in inland Southern California is ideally located to conduct research among the ethnically diverse K-12 student populations in the region. Students in our education programs work alongside world-class faculty devising and conducting research that brings about positive change for students of all ages and abilities. The incumbent should have familiarity with education foundations and be willing to assist faculty in the development of foundation proposals. The DoD will identify and manage approximately 150 prospective donors and will travel locally and statewide frequently for qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship purposes. The DoD will arrange appropriate opportunities for key faculty and academic leadership to meet with prospective donors and will work collaboratively with other University Advancement colleagues to achieve fundraising goals. The DoD will be instrumental in planning and executing strategies in collaboration with the Education and Policy development team, to achieve the University's $300M "Living the Promise" campaign goal by 2020. This is a three-year, renewable contract position that includes the same employee benefits afforded career employees. A cover letter is required. |
