Custom Scope
Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced, fundraising professional. Plans, schedules, and implements moderate-sized, comprehensive fundraising and alumni relations projects and programs, including specific fundraising programs such as annual fund, alumni relations, research, etc. May coordinate and oversee the work of support staff and/or other professionals. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Position is expected to raise gift dollar amounts as established at each fundraiser specialization.

Department Custom Scope
Under the general direction of, and in close coordination with the Sr. Director of Development, Athletics and the Director of Development, the Associate Director of Development (ADOD) will serve as a key member of UC Riverside's development team, supporting and furthering the priorities and fundraising goals of UC Riverside's Intercollegiate Athletics program. Using skills as a seasoned, experienced fundraising professional the ADOD will work in close collaboration with the Central Annual Giving team to implement, manage, and grow giving through the Athletic Association program. Working with the Athletics Development department they will qualify, cultivate and steward both annual giving and major gift donors to help grow our donor pipeline, prepare fundraising proposals and presentations, and collaborate with colleagues in University Advancement to increase support of UC Riverside Athletics.

Identifies, cultivates, solicits and/or stewards donors.
  • Devise and oversee the implementation of personalized methods for recognizing and maintaining ongoing contact with current/past donors to ensure donor retention. Maintain donor data with the highest regard for confidentiality and detail using Raiser's Edge software. Develop detailed gift opportunities tailored to the interests of potential donors. Encourage the active participation of donors and volunteers.

Provides analysis and information of complex results or activities, and makes recommendations to upper management for program changes or development of new programs as required.

Work with centralized annual giving staff and the Athletics development team to plan, monitor and evaluate an annual giving program to support the priorities of athletics. Assist with development related University and Athletics event planning and implementation. Attend University events and appropriate programs.

Experience with Raiser's Edge or other constituent databases. Experience with exporting/importing data from or to different software applications; and operating knowledge of Internet for data gathering purposes. Preferred
Advanced writing skills to independently write concise, logical, grammatically correct analytical or narrative reports, correspondence, or proposals. Preferred
Experience in coordinating and integrating fundraising efforts with alumni, media relations and marketing professionals within advancement. Experience in development and/or alumni affairs and/or annual giving. Preferred
Excellent problem-solving skills with proven ability to strategize, prioritize, and multi-task to meet departmental goals/deadlines. Required
