Custom Scope

Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing Student Services situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained. Exercises some judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action.

Department Custom Scope
The Department of Social Medicine Population and Public Health in the University of California Riverside School of Medicine seeks a bilingual program coordinator. Reporting to both the Deputy Director/Finance and Administrative Officer for the Center and the assigned Principal Investigator (PI), the Program Coordinator provides administration, coordination, and management of project activities broadly related to health disparities in vulnerable populations. The Program Coordinator oversees the administrative aspects of programs and assists program leadership in the planning, organization, and implementation of project activities. The Project Coordinator, a bilingual English-Spanish speaker, must communicate effectively with campus and community stakeholders in both written and spoken Spanish and English. Please note: This is a 18 to 24 month appointment with the opportunity to extend subject to funding availability.

Under close supervision of higher-level professional: Provides straightforward information about department major requirements.
  • As project coordinator for education and research programs, promotes the program by providing accurate information about program objectives, opportunities, requirements. Learns about related programs and promotes future developed courses. Management and coordination of budgets, including review of monthly expenditures, in partnership with project leadership, as well as communicate with finance and administration contacts to ensure budget changes and resolve discrepancies.

Assists higher level professionals in preparing admissions materials for review.
  • Assists in the content and format of program materials. Assists participants in their involvement in program activities and facilitates access to activities.

Assists in preparing recruitment materials.
  • Prepares templates, materials, and web content in English and Spanish to engage participants in educational and research programs.

Enters student data into department/school/college student systems.
  • Log participant enrollment and provide certificate of completion. Assign new user logins and timely inactivate users who have completed coursework. Enter grades or completion into an online application.

Works closely with the assigned Principal Investigator (PI) on project management activities, which may include coordination of large projects, including coordination of campus stakeholders (students, faculty, staff) and community stakeholders. Development, preparation and distribution of project documents and reports such as project timelines and data collection and evaluation instruments. Creation and management of project databases and tracking records. Development and maintenance of regulatory compliance for institutional review board applications. Administrative organization, including the management of multiple campus and community project participants, collaborators, and activities. Tracks project expenses and budgets. Serve as liaison between project leadership, participants, and collaborators.
