Department Custom Scope
The Policy and Engagement Coordinator is a new position under Alianza UCMX. Alianza UCMX is a systemwide program that was created in September 2019 through the integration of three systemwide University of California programs that focus on Mexico. UC Riverside serves as the host campus. The Policy and Engagement Coordinator independently is responsible for developing and directing a comprehensive program to actively engage multiple stakeholders including representatives from higher education, government, and non-profit and private sector organizations both California and Mexico to advance Alianza UCMX's objectives in support of bilateral collaborations between UC and Mexico. The incumbent will be responsible to identify, conceptualize, plan, and implement new programs that strengthen relationships and help to build interests in UC and Mexico through engagement. Serve as primary point person for interactions with various stakeholders in the UC and Mexico. Compose and disseminate briefings and communications on Alianza UCMX's for internal and external audiences and functions. Independently undertake a variety of special projects in support of the Alianza UCMX's strategic vision. Please note: Budgeted Amount for this position is up to $75,000 annually. In consultation with the Director of Alianza UCMX, develop and implement engagement strategy for multiple stakeholders in the US-Mexico relationship and to increase participation, effectiveness and connections to Alianza UCMX. Attend selected external functions on behalf of the Director. Provide representation and visibility for Alianza UCMX and work to establish and strengthen meaningful relationships on behalf of Alianza UCMX. Coordinate with the campus Governmental and Community Relations office, to expand relationships with community leaders and elected officials on behalf of the Alianza UCMX. Represent Alianza UCMX with selected community organizations focused on issues that align with the strategic vision. Actively participate in organizational efforts and strive to cultivate meaningful connections on behalf of Alianza UCMX in the UC campuses and Mexico partners. | 10 |
