Custom Scope
Using skills as a seasoned, experienced student services professional, provides the full range of student services within an organization such as an academic department, school, or college. Independently advises students and resolves student services-related issues on the full range of academic issues inherent within the organization. Advises faculty and management on a variety of student issues. Works with the department's/school's/college's management to recommend changes to policies, practices, and procedures. Guidance on issues requiring in-depth knowledge of specialized programs is provided by offices specializing in those fields, e.g., the financial aid office, graduate division, or student learning center, OR by the chair/dean and faculty of the department/school/college. May administer funds for student programs. |
Department Custom Scope
The Student Conduct Coordinator investigates and adjudicates alleged violations of academic and social policies by University students and student organizations; develops sanctions for students and student organizations found in violation of University policies which promote personal and educational development, and maintains University standards; Refers and presents cases to the Student Conduct and College Academic Integrity Committees; assists with daily operations of Student Conduct & Academic Integrity Programs; and actively participates in outreach and liaison activities. |

Student Conduct: Responsible for interpreting organization policies and advising students and faculty on student conduct, student grievances, disputes, and issues regarding discrimination. | 40 |
Case Management: Reviews and resolves 200-300 academic and social misconduct violations by students annually. Refers and presents cases to the Student Conduct and Academic Integrity Committees. Develops, implements, and monitors developmentally appropriate educational sanctions. Collects and analyzes data and prepares reports as needed, including Clery Act and other agency requests. Maintains records and files of disciplinary cases in keeping with applicable University policies and state/federal laws. | 25 |
Perform service in one or more of the following specialties: 1) Conduct Committee Coordination: serves as primary coordinator for hearing committees, including recruitment and training of faculty, staff, and student committee members and scheduling of hearings; 2) Academic Integrity Programs Coordination: coordinates Academic Integrity Seminar including recruitment, training, and scheduling of peer facilitators; 3) Student Organization Case Coordination: serves as primary case manager for referrals involving student organizations; acts as liaison between Student Conduct & Academic Integrity Programs and Student Life; 4) Residential Conduct Coordination: serves as case manager for cases involving residential students; may coordinate Housing Peer Review Board, including recruitment and training of student committee members and scheduling of hearings. | 15 |
