Leads one or more student success activity that supports student success or development, or a process that supports the advising function. The incumbent's role is complex and has broad impact within the unit beyond assigned responsibilities. Current areas of independent work include: (a) student success activities--leads or co-leads coordination of learning communities, freshmen advising seminar, peer mentoring, transfer transition programming, new student orientations, major/cohort based workshops, change of major advising, etc.; (b) recruitment and admissions--coordinates BCOE's participation in campus-wide recruitment efforts, assists evaluation of exceptions to transfer admission criteria, develops and manages communication campaigns targeting unique populations, etc.; (c) curriculum and course scheduling--supports curriculum planners/schedulers in cohort progression analysis, projecting course demand in alignment with department resources, develops form course plans supporting timely degree progress, etc.; (d) staff and resource development--leads training of new staff; develops and enhances resources supporting the advising function i.e. presentations, website content, etc.; leads collaboration with computer programmers in design of online advising tools; (e) independently identifies and resolves issues with larger implications; functioning with a significant amount of autonomy, investigates issues and opportunities, explores possibilities and chooses best courses action; (f) lead initiatives partnering with Director, Associate Dean, Registrar's Office, or Undergraduate Education, etc.

Confirms that students have met requirements for degree completion when there are no clear precedents or articulations, such as interdisciplinary programs or when transfer work is involved.
- This includes routine monitoring of students? academic progress term to term, ensuring compliance with major/college/university academic policies and degree requirements; responding to petitions of academic policy, rendering decisions or referring to appropriate decider, and noting student records; certification of degree completion.

Participates in planning academic curriculum in collaboration with chair/dean and faculty, and with other departments, to ensure student's progress through course sequences, avoid conflicts, and ensure compliance with organization-wide policies.
