Department Custom Scope
Under the supervision of the Assistant Director for Undergraduate Admissions, organize and administer motivational and informational outreach programs aimed at increasing UCR enrollment from high achieving and under-represented minority (esp. Black/African American, Native American, etc.) high school and/or transfer students. As an official representative of the University, is available to prospective and admitted students, their families (including foster youth), the campus community, and the general public to interpret and explain University policies, regulations and admissions requirements. Represents the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and the University at workshops, counselor conferences, college fairs, high school visits, Umoja visits and a variety of on/off-campus recruitment and yield events. The Community Engagement and Outreach Admissions Counselor will collaborate to propose and create new programs and events for Community Based Organizations (CBO's) like the Council of African American Parents, Black Girls Code and more. Candidates invited to interview will be required to give a presentation as part of the selection process. |
