Generic Scope

Under close supervision of higher level Student Academic Specialists, uses professional concepts and practices to support, develop and counsel students on specific learning skills and styles.

Department Custom Scope
The Athletics Academic Specialist 1 is responsible for using professional concepts and practices to support, develop and counsel student athletes in various sports programs on specific learning skills and styles while promoting an environment of academic excellence and fostering student success and retention. This individual will monitor and enhance the opportunity for progress towards degree, graduation, and continuing eligibility in accordance with UCR, Big West Conference, and NCAA regulations.
