Custom Scope
Using advanced and specialized expertise, designs and implements a wide variety of health promotion and education programs for the campus, and in conjunction with community outreach programs. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data and situations requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

Department Custom Scope
The Outreach Coordinator supports the Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) mission to educate the campus community in mental health as well as coordinates, plans, and documents the provision of outreach activities directly and through the provision of outreach and education by CAPS clinical staff. This position will collaborate with other departments on campus to provide comprehensive mental health education and promotion services, programs, and resources. The Outreach Coordinator will represent CAPS and the Division of Health, Well-Being and Safety mission and values at various campus and divisional planning and coordination meetings in order to further the messaging, outreach and marketing needs of CAPS. The Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for CAPS social media, marketing and website presence on campus. The successful applicant will demonstrate their high level of understanding of mental health and psychological services, but also demonstrate their knowledge of connecting with students who identify as historically underrepresented BIPOC students, African Diaspora, API, Latinx, international, first-generation, undocumented, veterans, students with disabilities, and LGBTQI+ communities as examples.

Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Required
Advanced degree. Preferred
Masters degree in Psychology or other Mental Health related field. Preferred

Demonstrated experience and understanding of working in a clinical mental health facility Preferred

Develops outreach programs and works with community leaders as well as the Office of the President.
  • Utilizes advanced knowledge of mental health, student development, and health promotion to create/develop culturally responsive outreach/programs/trainings.* Collaborates with campus and department partners to develop a comprehensive outreach calendar and accompanying marketing strategy that meets the complex and varied needs of the campus.* Responds to and coordinates requests for outreach and education from campus community members. *

Assesses the effectiveness of the promotion and education of entire healthcare programs, and makes recommendations that may have broad impact to the programs.
  • Ensures that all programs, outreach, health promotion activities are documented in electronic medical record system.* Conducts assessment to determine the effectiveness (alignment with learning outcomes) and satisfaction surveys.* Provides regular reports on activities and outcomes to CAPS director
