Department Custom Scope
Under the supervision of the Director of Transportation Services, the Project Analyst will provide administrative, project management, and data analysis support to Transportation Services management on a wide variety of complex and high priority projects. The incumbent will apply professional and analytical skills to aid in the development, execution, and evaluation of department procedures, policies, programs, and projects to improve service delivery and the customer experience. The ideal candidate loves systems, processes, and data; excels in a fast-paced environment; possesses a natural curiosity to learn new technologies, ideas, and tools; and takes initiative to explore and update processes and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Description % Time
Gathers and assembles analytical and factual data on assigned problems and issues to prepare reports and/or analyses summarizing information on the assigned issues and commenting on other significance for internal or external constituents.
  • Performs analytical studies on a variety of policies, programs, and issues. Researches and summarizes industry best practices and new technologies. Disseminates information and correspondences throughout the department.

Prepares, edits and modifies documents including research reports, manuscripts, presentations and proposals.
  • Responsible for the preparation, tracking, and ongoing update of Transportation Services projects, plans, and initiatives. Monitors progress, schedules, milestones and deliverables for projects with multiple deadlines. Drafts project summary sheets and presentations. Creates, develops and manages graphs, data, and visual documents. Provides reports for reoccurring weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly updates.

Applies professional or research concepts to perform analysis of data and systems pertaining to moderately complex projects, policies, initiatives, processes, and/or functions.
  • Responsible for benchmarking with other UC campuses and industry standards to inform on best practices. Assists in the creation, monitoring, and updating of internal department documents such as KPIs, customer surveys, flow charts, process maps, and procedures using standard departmental and University policies and past precedent as guidelines.

Provides operational support for Transportation & Parking Services and Fleet Services which may include some of the following functions: participates in the development and implementation of the department's mission, goals, and strategic planning; assists in the review of operations and services to identify operational efficiencies and integrate "best practices"; coordinates and/or participates in special projects and assignments, the scope of which may extend beyond day-to-day operations.

Provides administrative and project support to Transportation Services leadership; maintains calendars, coordinates meetings and associated documents; Drafts, collects and manages briefing and background materials; informs leadership of time sensitive issues and materials.
