Department Custom Scope
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Public Education Specialist 3 serves as the Director of the UCR OSHER Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) and Community Education programs, managing and overseeing all aspects of the program in all locations. Provides accessible, high quality continuing education through innovative and entrepreneurial approaches for the OLLI Program and other community programs. Directs the UCR OLLI for adults over the age of 50 by providing non-credit, non-academic lectures for adult learners. Develops and nurtures good, long term working relationships with the business and nonprofit community, University faculty and staff, and guest lecturers. This position will oversee performance and support of guest lectures, create curricula/lecture plans, schedule lectures quarterly, establish program budgets and control expenses, develop marketing plans and write promotional marketing press releases, and recruit new guest lecturers and evaluate new programs. Works with the Executive Director to develop, implement and evaluate community engagement programs. |
