Department Custom Scope
Responsible for providing adminstrative support and leadership to operations within the SDRC Tesing Center, including the provision of accommodations and services for students with disabilities. Position oversees front desk operations for the Student Disability Resource Center and is responsible for directly supervising student employees that provide services to students with disabilities. Provides back up to the SDRC Testing Center Coordinator in their absence, to ensure accommodations and services for students occur as needed and within the scheduled requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Description % Time
Program Implementation and Coordination for SDRC Testing Center - Assists in coordinating an extensive test proctoring service, including a complex scheduling system involving multiple factors. Works closely with faculty and academic departments in scheduling, tracking the status of all exams, ensuring exam security, and preventing academic dishonesty. Resolve issues and complaints through analysis and follow-up, making decisions regarding the best course of action to resolve problems within department/university policies and procedures. Monitors requests that require alternate format and coordinates with the Accessible Technology Specialist. In the absence of the TC Coordinator, is responsible for the implemenation of CART (Communication Access Realtime Translation) and sign language interpreter program, including working with contracted vendors, faculty, and other interested parties. Coordinates the provision of readers, scribes, and note-sharing volunteers/staff as appropriate to each student's disability. Supervises student staff and volunteers providing these services. Provides or supervises provision of assistance to students with disabilities, such as non-routine typing, transcribing, and photocopying or emailing of student notes.

Administrative Support - Provides administrative support for the SDRC and SDRC Testing Center. Types, files, and enters statistical data. Regularly uses computer, applicable software, and University systems to process and maintain all department business. Maintains accurate records student information, service information, and communication records. Orders office and testing supplies, and performs transactions, as needed. Coordinates day-to-day activities of the SDRC Testing Center in the absence of the Coordinator. Oversees the SDRC Testing Center front office, serving as receptionist as needed. Creates a friendly and professional environment for visitors and callers.

Supervision of Student Staff - Recruits, hires and trains student employees who work primarily as front office assistants, exam proctors, readers/scribes, and sometimes notetakers. Supervision would include development of comprehensive training curriculum and create opportunities for performance feedback and recognition. Ensures student employee completes required, new and recurrent training mandated by the department, organization or campus. Responsibilities would include working with student employees in on-boarding, rehiring, extension, and separation processes. Position should be able to assist with other personnel processing needs for the department, when necessary.

Inventory Support - Maintains inventory of SDRC Testing Center materials and equipment. Works with Accessible Technology Specialist to ensure adaptive equipment used in the Center by students is in good working order. Provides completed annual Equipment Inventory Report to department administrative manager. Arranges for reassignment or disposal of obsolete equipment, ensuring compliance with relevant Equipment Management policies and procedures.
