Custom Scope
Uses advanced professional concepts and campus objectives to resolve highly complex issues. Regularly works on highly complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

Department Custom Scope
This incumbent will perform direct clinical psychological care to patients of all ages, such as diagnostic assessments, individual therapy, group therapy, crisis intervention, and related services to patients with varying disorders. Provide teaching and consultative services to other professionals and health care trainees such as medical students, residents, and other staff. May provide teaching and educational opportunities to families and other community agencies through workshops, classes, conference presentations and/or other formats. While this is a generalist position, there is opportunity to specialize in the field based on incumbent interest and needs of the UCR Health patient population. All the Psychologist's activities are performed within the limits of standards and ethical principles of the California Board of Psychology, as well as, applicable legal mandates for mental health professionals in the State of California.

6 - 10 years of related experience. Required
Must meet all academic affairs requirements for a health sciences clinical faculty appointment in order to teach. Required

Current, valid license in California as a psychologist. Preferred
Current, valid license in California as a psychologist. Out-of-state licensed psychologists have 180 days to complete licensure requirements in the State of California. Required

As technical leader, performs evaluation, diagnosis, and psychotherapy for the most difficult and complex cases.
  • Performs diagnosis and psychotherapy on a full range of cases that are not pre-screened. Provision of Direct Clinical Services: Provides time-limited individual, couples, and group therapy services for persons receiving care for a variety of behavioral health issues at various levels of complexity and may include serious psychological disturbance and developmental concerns. Refers recipients of services to specialty psychological/psychiatric and other mental health related services. Support and evaluation of patient's mental health.

Applies advanced concepts to coordinate the activities of several clinical psychologists and/or related professionals in a unit program.

Conducts seminars and trains professional and paraprofessional staff members.

Implements related business processes. Clinical Documentation and Case Management: Completes accurate and concise clinical documentation for all clinical contacts in compliance with ethical and professional standards, UCR Quality Assurance policies, and in compliance with UCR Health policies and procedures. Manages caseload appropriately and with consultation as needed.

Initiates and designs administrative studies and revise/implement new procedures.
