Department Custom Scope
Under the supervision of the Vice Chancellor of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (VC-DEI), the DEI Training Coordinator is responsible for a range of administrative coordination and programmatic facilitation responsibilities on a day-to-day basis. The incumbent will consult with the VC-DEI in the development, planning, promotion, implementation and evaluation of DEI training, workshops, and other programming. Under supervision, the incumbent will assist the office in developing diversity, equity and inclusion related programs, creating and maintaining DEI education content and materials, and curating the DEI website and social media sites. The position will also work in close collaboration with other ODEI staff to coordinate DEI activities, including the Chancellor's Making Excellence Inclusive Diversity Certificate Programs for both Staff and Faculty and for Graduate Students.

Key Responsibilities

Assists in provide training and coaching for employees and managers on diversity issues.
  • Provide program coordination and assist in providing training and coaching for diversity education programming. This includes program and content development, research, logistics, communications, scheduling, event organization, participant tracking, budgeting, and assessment-related program data management and analysis

Assists with administration of effective equal employment opportunity programs and standards.
  • Ensure proper programming promotion (website, mailings, e-mail, advertising, campus events calendar, tables at conferences, etc.), administration (registration, scheduling classes, coordinating enrollment, monitoring costs, production of materials, room set-up, catering, venue booking, guest speaker booking, setting up systems and equipment, etc.), follow-up on attendees and guest speakers (if applicable) for feedback reporting and honorarium payment (if applicable), and conduct complete and thorough project closeouts.

Works in a collaborative manner with others across the organization.
  • Partner with the Office of the Chancellor, Human Resources, Student Affairs, Graduate Division, etc. to coordinate DEI efforts across campus.

Prioritize, manage, and respond to incoming requests, correspondence, telephone messages, and e-mails for any DEI training/workshop requests.

Maintain and update the website and Instagram page for the ODEI.

Assist the ODEI Team in the development of appropriate publications, social media communications and advertising to enhance the visibility of the ODEI and its programming efforts.
