Department Custom Scope
Under close supervision from the Admissions Manager, this position is responsible for providing assistance in the evaluation of applicants to the School of Medicine. The primary areas of responsibility include: preparation of materials from applicants for review by the admissions committee, assisting on interview days and/or admissions committee meetings, and providing information to the public and prospective applicants on admissions requirements. Please note that this position is a limited appointment at 50% time, not to exceed 1,000 hours and with an expected end date of April 30, 2023.

Key Responsibilities

Prepares admissions materials for review.
  • Evaluates applicants primary admissions materials in preparation for admissions committee review. Participates in the planning, coordination, and execution of activities for medical school candidate interview events.

Under close supervision from manager or higher level Admissions/Recruitment Specialist, provides information to the public and prospective applicants on admissions requirements, and school/college programs and curricula.
  • Provide information to and advise medical students on curriculum requirements, course objectives and expectations related to scheduled curriculum and other student support services. Serve as advisor to new and continuing medical students with the Medical School Admission process, admission requirements and other inquiries regarding UCR SOM programs.

Assists with planning special events in collaboration with program leadership. Assists with planning and coordination of activities for medical school recruitment events, White Coat ceremony and other associated events. Orders food and beverages for various SOM Student Affairs/Admissions events. Participates in approved training and development activities to learn and maintain programmatic and subject matter competency. Other duties as assigned.
