Custom Scope
Applies professional student services concepts, policies and procedures in the completion of Student Services assignments that are of limited scope and impact. Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing Student Services situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained. Exercises some judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action. |
Department Custom Scope
Under the supervision of the Student Affairs Officer, the incumbent has primary responsibility for providing service to current and prospective students and faculty for the Departments of Chemical/ Environmental Engineering and Bioengineering; intake advising, attend recruitment events, and coordination of graduate student affairs events for the departments of Chemical/ Environmental Engineering and Bioengineering. The incumbent will be responsible for the travel coordination of visitors and guests related to events linked to the graduate programs and entertainment requests in accordance to the G-28 travel policy and BUS-79 entertainment policy. Screen and answer questions from students, staff, faculty or the general public in person, by phone, e-mail, or virtually. Schedule appointments, make appropriate referrals, process applications for new students, intercept student requests for processing graduate forms, perform data entry, and maintain students' electronic files. Assist with the editing of websites related to the advising unit. Process new course requests and edit existing courses as needed. This position is front-facing and customer service-oriented, which will require the incumbent to have or obtain a knowledge of the departments, the staff, and their respective faculty to assist visitors and answer questions. |
