Department Custom Scope
Serve as Athletic Trainer to UCR's Men's and Women's Intercollegiate Athletic programs. Supervise, under the direction of the Associate Athletics Director/Sports Medicine and Performance, team physicians and the Athletics Director, the prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for approximately 325 student-athletes competing in 17 Division I sports at UCR. Supervise, organize, and make referrals to appropriate medical personnel. Manage student athlete's medical insurance information for billing and referral purposes. Recondition and rehabilitate athletes on referral from physicians through the use of appropriate physical and therapeutic modalities. Regularly inform coaches on the status of injured athletes. Assist in the daily operation of the Sports Medicine Department. Assist in the development and supervision of an instruction program of athletic training for athletic training students and student intern/assistants/volunteers. Maintain an organized system of records and files on all aspects of the daily function of the sports medicine clinic. |
