Department Custom Scope
| The Pediatrics department is seeking physicians in inpatient, outpatient, and mixed settings clinical practices in Riverside, San Bernardino, and Coachella Valley at UCR Health clinics and affiliate sites. Pediatricians supervise and/or perform a full range of professional work in primary care medicine involving the examination, diagnosis, and treatment of pediatric patients. They work collaboratively with other physician groups for patient care. |

| Direct Patient Care: Pediatricians engage in a full range of direct patient care activities and medical/clinical practice as the principal component of their overall professional responsibility within the clinical setting. Associate Physicians provide patient care activities that include but are not limited to: Hospital inpatient setting: 1. Assessment, evaluation, diagnostic determination, on-going treatment and clinical management, necessary referral for consultation, care planning and modification, medications/therapeutic orders, transfer authorization, risk assessment, and, when appropriate, determination of readiness and planning for discharge. 2. Extensive and on-going communications with community primary care physicians or hospitalists who routinely manage the care of patients in the inpatient or outpatient settings. 3. Day-to-day patient contact/rounding/care management that actively encourages and includes professional input from all members of the patient care team. 4. Delivery room resuscitation and newborn care. 5. Consultation with ER physicians for pediatric patients. Clinical Outpatient Setting: 1. Assessment, evaluation, diagnostic determination, on-going treatment and clinical management, necessary referral for consultation, care planning and modification, medications/therapeutic orders, transfer authorization, risk assessment, and, when appropriate, determination of readiness and planning for discharge from the clinic. 2. Extensive and on-going communications with community primary care physicians or hospitalists who routinely manage the care of patients in the inpatient or outpatient settings. 3. | Billing for Services: Accurately documents needed information to bill for services by recording diagnosis codes and completing corresponding documentation.
