Custom Scope
Under direction of higher-level K-14 Academic Preparation Specialist, works with assigned institutions and organizations to implement academic preparation programming of moderate scope. Maintains program visibility in schools. Maintains collaborative relationships with K-14 institutions and/or community entities. Maintains relationships with higher education institutions.

Department Custom Scope
The BCOE/MESA Outreach coordinator will plan, oversee, and implement K-14 outreach initiatives out of the Bourns College of Engineering, including supporting the college?s MESA program. The Bourns College of Engineering boasts 18 Professional Student Organizations and over 120 faculty members. The college also houses the UCR MESA program, which actively works with 2,000 K-12 students and 40 K-12 teachers in the region. The BCOE/MESA Coordinator with help coordinate, plan and as needed, consolidate outreach efforts initiated by BCOE Student Orgs, faculty, and MESA. The coordinator will work with the MESA Coordinator to support MESA outreach events, particularly helping connect with Community Colleges within and outside the MESA Community College Network. The BCOE/MESA Coordinator?s efforts will help maximize our college's impact in our local and regional communities. **As a condition of employment, you will be required to comply with the University of California SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) Vaccination Program Policy. Key Responsibilities

Description % Time
Plans, coordinates and implements outreach initiatives initiated by College Student Orgs, Faculty. These include student org outreach events (SHPE Dia de Ciencias, Bourns Engineering Day, etc.), and faculty funded programming (K-12 summer camps, weekend community workshops, etc)

  • With MESA coordinator, plans, coordinates and implements pertinent MESA Events (MESA Day Project Competition, MESA Robotics Competition, etc)
