Department Custom Scope
Under supervision by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) Manager of Technical Operations, the Information Systems Analyst supports IT services used by the instructional program and supplies technical expertise to meet the challenges of this increasingly dynamic environment. Responsibilities include support of IT services, including service delivery, server and desktop deployment and maintenance, and development of new technical solutions. The Information Systems Analyst remains current with developments in the field, supports established IT procedures and standards, helps implement work flow processes, and ensures consistent delivery of IT services.

Key Responsibilities

Description % Time
Provides support for diverse clients including students, teaching assistants, and instructors. Support must be delivered in a well prioritized, professional, timely, and respectful fashion. Provides effective documentation, training, and self-help resources for these clients. Provides trouble ticket and in person (or equivalent remote) support and diagnostics for clients' software and networking problems. Maintains and improves documentation on local procedures related to client support.

Manages systems and services for a facility or portion of facility of small to moderate size. Evaluates, installs, modifies and supports operating systems, software, utilities and/or tools. Applies and maintains moderately complex security controls.

Designs, develops, modifies, debugs and evaluates moderately complex software and scripts. Designs and applies basic data sources. Employs source code control techniques. Tests software to ensure proper operation and conformance to test plans. Assists with moderately complex release management activities.
