Custom Scope
Using advanced fundraising concepts, plans, organizes, and directs complex large-scale fundraising campaigns which include multiple components. Results have major impact on overall program goals and assignments and are typically at the "major gifts" or "corporate/foundation relations" level, including managing portfolios of donors capable of giving gifts of an agreed upon amount. May oversee work of professional and/or subordinate staff. May attend functions, meetings and serve on internal/external committees as a location representative. Position is expected to raise gift dollar amounts as established at each specialization.

Department Custom Scope
Under the leadership of the Assistant Dean for Development and in close collaboration with the Dean of the College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences (CNAS), UC Riverside seeks a Director of Development (DoD) who will increases private philanthropy (individual, foundation, and corporate) to CNAS through major, principal, and planned gifts. The DoD will identify and manage approximately 150 prospective donors and will travel locally and statewide frequently for qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship purposes. The DoD will arrange appropriate opportunities for key faculty and academic leadership to meet with prospective donors and will work collaboratively with other University Advancement colleagues to achieve fundraising goals. Key Responsibilities

Develops and manages dynamic portfolio to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward prospects for gifts in the agreed upon range. May include corporate and foundation prospects.
  • Incumbent's work will focus on collaborating with faculty to promote the impact of their research with the goal of securing gifts from prospects at the annual, major, planned, and principal giving level.

Works collaboratively with CNAS development team and University Advancement colleagues to achieve fundraising goals. Works directly with internal colleagues on initiatives in support of the college's mission. Positively inspires others to play an active role in growing programs that benefit faculty and student research. Continually engage with faculty, deans, and directors to learn about faculty/departmental/program research priorities and collaborate to address needs by securing philanthropic support.

Experience with exporting/importing data from or to different software applications; and operating knowledge of internet for data gathering purposes. Preferred
