Custom Scope
Uses professional community educational program concepts to deliver standardized educational and volunteer educational programs. Applies established procedures and programs to address county program educational needs that are limited in scope. Follows standard practices in analyzing program content and delivery needs and determining effectiveness of current programs. Receives detailed instructions on all assignments.

Department Custom Scope
The UCR College Corps (Program) is part of the #CaliforniansForAll Governor's initiative which provides up to 150 college students at UCR with opportunities to support and learn from organizations working in three priority areas: K-12 Education, Climate Action and Food Insecurity. At UCR, College Corps will be a partnership with California Volunteers; University of California, Riverside (UCR); the City of Riverside; and the Riverside Unified School District and funded via contributions from each partner. . In coordination with and under the guidance of a UCR College Corps Assistant Director (AD), the UCR College Corps Digital Communications Assistant (DCA) is responsible for the online presence and communication of the UCR College Corps. The DCA will assist recruitment efforts of college students how sign up to become College Corps Fellows (Fellows) by creating intriguing content that communicates the opportunity and benefits of the College Corps program and by communicating with college students and internal partners about the Program?s opportunities. During the program year, the DCA is instrumental with documenting Program and Fellow activities, collecting interviews and stories that illustrate the importance and impact of the Program to funders, partners, community stakeholders and prospective Fellows. The DCA may coordinate on communication efforts with the communications teams of state government and local government representatives, various college campuses, university campus departments and communications teams. The DCA maintains and organizes audio, visual, and other media content to curate into social media and digital stories, anecdotes for progress reports, recruitment campaigns, and reports to Program partners. The DCA will attend Program events to collect images and stories, events may be off-campus, or take place on an occasional weekend or evening. DCA will regularly engage a variety of audiences by establishing and maintaining social media and website presence, amplifying Program?s communications, and develops marketing and communications strategies based on data analytics, website traffic, and participant and stakeholder feedback. This position is a grant funded, starting in March 2022 and expected to run through July 2024 with a possibility of extension based on continued availability of funding and program performance.

  • Generates, edits, publishes, and posts social media and website content on a variety of platforms, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to communicate the opportunity, impact, and importance of the UCR College Corps. Writes, edits, and creates written and visual content that is persuasive, inspiring, and engaging.

Researches participant data to enhance program delivery and outcomes.
  • Collects and analyzes social media and website traffic metrics and other data analytics to inform communications strategies. Establishes and grows social media presence and online reputation and relevancy. Solicits and crafts stories from interviews, interpersonal interactions, email and social media communications.

Assists other program staff to recruit program participants to meet established enrollment and outcome requirements.
  • Communicates regularly with target audiences via social media, websites, online platforms and printable media.

Tracks and maintains required program-related paperwork, inventory, activity reports, and other documentation.
  • Maintains an organization system for logos, photo and video images, audio, and other media in a manner that can be accessed and reproduced with ease. Serves as the historian and documentarian for the UCR College Corps program.

Assists with planning special events in collaboration with program leadership and community partners, and works to establish relationships with new partners.
  • Frequently engages a variety of audiences like college students, community partners, stakeholders, and funders. Collaborates with communications teams and counterparts at external and internal partners. Assists with special events for the program and on regional events.
