Department Custom Scope
Under the direct supervision of the Dean of the Marlan and Rosemary Bourns College of Engineering, the Assistant Dean of Strategic Initiatives and Marketing will lead marketing initiatives in support of strategic college programs with a particular focus on the recruitment and admissions process. This role works in partnership with the Vice Provost of International Affairs and the Assistant Provost of Strategic Initiatives and International Recruitment to develop communication strategies that promote BCOE's global programs as well as Undergraduate Admissions and the Graduate Division to collaborate on outreach strategies. This role will assist with facilitating communications between these offices and college/department advisors. In addition, close collaboration with the college's development team is vital to assess and influence key audience perception of the college's reputation. A comprehensive understanding of emerging higher education trends is critical to provide consultation and advisement to college leadership regarding recommendations for resolution of complex issues such as identifying operational improvements and proposing innovative strategies that achieve organizational objectives. The Assistant Dean will advise leadership on initiatives that ensure consistent brand identity application, produce significant outcomes benefitting the college, and play a critical role in the college's short� and long-range strategic plan to assist in raising the college profile and ranking in the local, national, and international marketplace. To achieve these objectives, the Assistant Dean will develop and produce comprehensive, integrated marketing campaigns spanning both traditional and digital channels and will establish and maintain contacts with internal and external marketing professionals and vendors such as designers, photographers, videographers, advertising representatives, etc. Strong writing skills and experience are required along with the ability to relay complex/scientific ideas and concepts to general audiences. |
