Department Custom Scope
*This position is eligible for hybrid accommodations* The senior public information officer will enhance UC Riverside's reputation through reporting and disseminating peer-reviewed research and other news related to UC Riverside's School of Business, School of Education, School of Public Policy, and other colleges, schools, and units as needed. This position has the potential to be a hybrid position. The successful candidate will work with faculty and administration to distill complex research into engaging, relatable content aimed at a general audience. The position also involves writing feature stories and producing other non-research content. You will work as part of a collaborative team of media relations professionals in the University Communications department. This position requires an enthusiastic team player to work under limited supervision and to use discretion and judgment in building relationships, telling UCR's stories, and pitching those stories proactively to local, regional, and national media. Excellent communication, collaborative, and interpersonal skills are essential. Please note: Applicants for this position will need to submit samples of their work/portfolios for review by the selection committee and a cover letter is required. Additionally, the budgeted amount for this position is up to $80,000. |
