Department Custom Scope
The Assistant Production Manager assists in the day-to-day execution and production of events and shows in the Department of Theatre, Film, and Digital Production by organizing and sharing production information to keep students, staff, faculty, guest artists, and collaborators informed, and to promote a transparent production process. Additionally, they assist in the training of stage managers, house managers, and ushers, provide general production and technical assistance in the Electrics, Scene, and Costume shops, supervise front-of-house operations for productions, and assist in the development of production schedules, budgets, and the organization of the department's seasons. The Assistant Production Manager acts as a production representative at design and production meetings and in technical and dress rehearsals, and helps to evaluate student work for grading or advancement. They assist and facilitate the planning for long-range strategies for production and departmental operations, have a high working knowledge of production and stage management, and exhibit a passion for the art of theatre and film. The Assistant Production Manager reports to the Production Director for the Performing Arts and collaborates with production staff, faculty, and other campus constituents to achieve departmental goals. |
