Department Custom Scope
| Under direction of the PI (Perring) and Cooperator Dr. Carmen Gispert, this position will support several research projects taking place in the Coachella Valley Agricultural Region. The incumbent will be responsible for monitoring and changing traps for the South American Palm Weevil, a potentially serious pest of date palms in the Valley. In addition, incumbent will assist with date palm insect research and table grape studies as needed. |

| Under general direction organize distribute, and maintain insect traps for South American palm weevil. Traps will be serviced with the appropriate compounds that attract weevils to the traps South American palm weevil will be counted and data will be forwarded to UCR for inputting into spread sheet. Must independently travel to and from various research sites. | 50 |
| Work with PI in date palm insect research, changing traps, counting insects and mites, and spraying dates. | 20 |
